Our Story

Perseverance Before Glory (PBG) was born from a place of focus, perseverance, and determination. In 2019, our journey began with a heartfelt mission to support a personal cause—a fundraiser to help cover some of my mother’s hospital bills after her cancer diagnosis. To contribute, I created and sold long-sleeve shirts and sweatshirts during the event, raising $1,800 for the day. That experience sparked a realization: this wasn’t just a fundraiser—it was the beginning of something bigger.

Inspired by the hard work and perseverance witnessed throughout my life, PBG evolved into a brand dedicated to uplifting others. Working in a school district, after COVID, reminded me of the community I grew up in and how we could make an impact to help the younger generation. That’s when PBG shifted its focus to empowering youth and giving back to the community.

What We Do

At PBG, we are more than a clothing brand. We are a lifestyle. With every purchase, 25% of proceeds go toward providing school supplies and resources for students in need. Our mission began with small steps: our first year in 2022, we supplied five students with full school supply lists. In 2024, we doubled our efforts, helping ten students prepare for success in the classroom. Each year, we aim to grow our impact, doubling the number of students we support and expanding the ways we give back.

Beyond school supplies, we’ve extended our support to provide school clothes and athletic gear, knowing that confidence in both academics and sports can open doors to brighter futures. Our long-term vision includes opening a community facility with free tutoring and affordable athletic training, complete with a half turf and full basketball court, and a side room to study in, taught by aspiring educators and coaches.

Perseverance Before Glory is more than just a name. It’s a lifestyle rooted in the belief that hard work and dedication will lead to meaningful change. Inspired by my upbringing in North Minneapolis and the challenges our community faced, PBG is a tribute to those who rise above adversity and strive for greatness. It’s about turning challenges into triumphs and creating opportunities for those who need it most.
